Characterisation of a 3D-printed alkali-activated material based on waste mineral wool at room and elevated temperatures

• A mineral wool-based mix design was used to verify its suitability for a 3D-print. • The mix design shows thermal stability up to 500 °C. • The mechanical strength of the moulded samples decreased at elevated temperatures. • The number and size of pores in the prepared samples increased with temperature. • Higher porosity in the 3D-printed samples reduced the thermal expansion.
