We report on a first-of-its-kind simultaneous 48Ca(d, p) and 48Ca(d, t) reactions study in inverse kinematics with the Helical Orbit Solenoidal Spectrometer (HELIOS) at Argonne National Laboratory. This serves as an important demonstration of the viability of simultaneous reaction studies with solenoidal spectrometers, paving the way for similar experiments at other facilities, including with the SOLARIS device at FRIB. Furthermore, we report on the development of the new Light-Ion Focal Plane Detector (L-ion FPD) to perform complementary single-nucleon transfer reactions with light beams and enriched, stable targets with the Enge Magnetic Spectrometer at the Heavy Ion Accelerator Facility (HIAF).
