This paper presents a Phase 1 review study on the development of a fully natural biocomposite using banana stem fiber as primary reinforcement and ground coconut particle as secondary filler, bound with plant-derived natural binders — okra mucilage and rice gum. All materials are sourced from agricultural byproducts, making the proposed composite fully biodegradable. The review covers existing literature on each constituent material including fiber extraction, alkali treatment, and binder properties. Preliminary single-strand fabrication trials comparing okra mucilage and rice gum as binders are also reported, with okra mucilage demonstrating superior rigidity, interfacial adhesion, and surface uniformity. This study addresses a documented research gap in fully natural hybrid biocomposite systems and establishes the foundation for Phase 2 full batch fabrication and quantitative mechanical characterization.
