Background: Ultrasound examination of the visual organ is the gold standard for assessing the biometric parameters of the eyeball. The obtained data are used for calculating the intraocular lens (IOL) power. The accuracy of IOL power calculation is a key factor determining the success of cataract surgery. Objective: To evaluate the effect of M-cholinoblockers on the biometric parameters of the eyeball in children. Materials and Methods: Biometric parameters of the eyeball were studied in relatively healthy children aged 8–15 years who presented to the National Ophthalmology Center named after Z. Aliyeva. The examination included visual acuity testing, refractometry, tonometry, biomicroscopy, ophthalmoscopy, and ultrasonography. The ultrasound evaluation measured the anterior chamber depth (ACD), lens thickness, vitreous body size, and axial length (AL) of the eyeball. Measurements were performed before and 40 minutes after the instillation of M-cholinoblocker eye drops. Results: Our study demonstrated an increase in anterior chamber depth, and a decrease in lens thickness, vitreous body size, and axial length of the eyeball in children aged 8–15 years following the use of M-cholinoblockers. Conclusion: Instillation of M-cholinoblocker eye drops in children affects the biometric parameters of the eyeball, causing a shortening of the axial length by approximately 0.157 mm. This change in axial length results in a variation of the required intraocular lens optical power by 0.4–0.5 diopters, depending on the formula used for calculation. This factor should be considered when calculating IOL power in pediatric patients.
