This secondary analysis investigates the relationship between reduced nocturnal skin sympathetic nerve activity and ST elevation in patients with hyperadrenergic POTS.

Abstract

Hyperadrenergic postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (hPOTS) is a subgroup of POTS with prominent sympathetic activation symptoms. We recently recorded skin sympathetic nerve activity (SKNA) in ambulatory participants with hPOTS at baseline and after being treated with clonidine.1 We performed a secondary analysis to determine if reduced average SKNA (aSKNA) during sleep was associated with ST elevation.
