In the context of digital transformation of the urban environment, modernization of the transport system acquires strategic importance. The purpose of the study is to systematize the directions of artificial intelligence application in urban transport systems in Russia and to develop a model of their intellectualization levels. The research is based on the analysis and synthesis of scientific publications, comparative analysis of AI implementation practices, and a structural-logical approach to model development. Differences between operational and strategic levels of AI application are identified, and the necessity of their differentiation is substantiated. A model of intellectualization levels of the urban transport system and a digital maturity assessment matrix are proposed. The scientific novelty lies in the development of a conceptual model of intellectualization levels and their systematic classification. The practical significance is associated with the possibility of applying the model in planning the digital modernization of transport systems. Further research prospects include empirical validation of the proposed model.
