The widespread adoption of disruptive technologies in tourism and hospitality significantly enhances service productivity while concurrently raising critical ethical considerations. However, a study that develops into such a focus shift in technology evaluation research is absent. This systematic review attempted to fill this research gap and reviewed 213 articles recently published in Social Science Citation Index – listed tourism and hospitality journals. This study critically examines the evolving role of technology evaluation. Moreover, this paper offers valuable implications for technology evaluation research that promotes ethical technology management in the new decades of digital revolution.
