Abstract

Plasma renin activity increased after the development of hypertension in spontaneously hypertensive (SH) rats, while kidney renin content diminished. However, no difference could be detected in renin activity in renal venous blood of 8-12-week-old SH rats compared to normotensive Wistar rats.
