Does intracardiac echocardiography improve the diagnosis of infective endocarditis in patients where transesophageal echocardiography is unrevealing or contraindicated?
Intracardiac echocardiography should be considered for evaluating infective endocarditis in select patients, especially those with prosthetic valves or cardiac devices where TEE is inadequate.
