District hospitals in Senegal are pivotal for healthcare delivery, yet their operational efficiency varies significantly. A difference-in-differences model was applied to assess changes in efficiency over time among district hospitals, controlling for potential confounders. Efficiency gains were observed with an estimated increase of 20% in resource utilization across participating districts after the intervention period. The application of difference-in-differences methodology provided a robust framework to measure efficiency improvements in Senegalese district hospitals. Future studies should consider scaling up interventions and exploring additional factors that influence hospital performance. district hospitals, efficiency gains, difference-in-differences, resource utilization Treatment effect was estimated with logit (pᵢ) =₀+^ Xᵢ, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
