Pollen, Starch, and Protein Analysis of Samples From the Bull Creek Site (34bv176), Oklahoma

The Bull Creek site (34BV176) is situated within the short grass prairie biome on a cut bank that is in a meander of Bull Creek located in the High Plains physiographic region of western Beaver County, Oklahoma. The Bull Creek floodplain supports trees that include elm (Ulmus), cottonwood (Celtis), and hackberry (Celtis). The stratigraphic sediments, including buried paleosols, date from 13,210 RCYBP to the present. Two rocks and one sediment sample were recovered from the lower summer occupation area that has been previously radiocarbon dated to between 10,233–10,299 CAL yrs. BP (9,139 ± 21 RCYBP).
