This research aims to investigate the adequacy of knowledge and skills of principals in public primary schools in Greece. The application of new technologies in the management of school units is being investigated. Additionally, the research examines the relationship between the transformational and transactional leadership style adopted by managers, their gender, and the utilization of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Quantitative research was conducted using a data collection tool: the questionnaire consisting of closed-ended questions. It was based on previous research of international and Greek literature. A sample of 522 principals working in these schools during the school years 2021–2022 and 2022–2023 was utilized. The findings demonstrate that the leadership style of the participants (transformational and transactional leadership) has a positive correlation with skills and frequent use of ICT, while gender is not related to managers’ ability regarding the use of ICT. In addition, the transformational style is related to the gender of managers. Furthermore, the conclusions show that the introduction of ICT is required for effective management of school units. The results demonstrate that the principals are enthusiastic supporters of the use of ICT in the management of school organizations. At the same time, there is acknowledgment of their own importance in improving the educational and administrative process.
