The emergence and subsequent rapid development of digital technologies has become a very significant turning point in various industries, including in the sphere of functioning of the state management mechanism. Thus, in modern conditions, governments are increasingly using digitalization products more actively and with great enthusiasm in order to increase the efficiency, transparency and quality of services provided. At the same time, it is important to emphasize that the integration we are considering is not without various kinds of difficulties and obstacles. That is why, within the framework of this article, the goal is to study current problems and factors that determine the prospects for the use of digital technologies in public administration of the Russian Federation. While writing the article, the author used the following methods: comparison, observation, analysis of modern scientific publications, method of system-logical analysis. Based on the results of the work, it was possible to come to the conclusion that the integration of digital technological solutions into public administration in the current conditions is associated with a number of problems. Their effective resolution requires an integrated approach, relying on technical improvements, ethical considerations, legal adjustments, administrative reforms and productive socio-political interaction. Prospects, both short-term and long-term, involve the integration of digital developments into various parts of the state management mechanism.
