A historic building recording was undertaken at 2 High Street after a programme of renovation revealed the building had deteriorated to such an extent that it was structurally unsound and would need to be demolished. The building, which is Category C Listed, was built in 1866 and lies within the Jedburgh Conservation Area. The work took place between May 2018 and May 2019. An initial measured survey was made of the decorative corner of the building. In May 2019 a photographic record was made of the interior of the building. A more detailed survey was undertaken of part of the cellar, which had been identified as containing the remains of an earlier structure. The survey included detailed hand drawing of specific areas, analysis of the upstanding walls and a photogrammetric survey of the cellar elevations.
