Abstract

Das deutsche Kolonialprojekt vereinte die verschiedenen ethnischen Gemeinschaften Tansanias und legte durch Investitionen in Christentum, Verkehr, Bildung und Medizin den Grundstein für die nationale Selbständigkeit. Schlüsselfiguren wie Theodor von Gunzert, Distriktkommissar von Muansa, spielten dabei eine wichtige Rolle. Das Gunzert-Haus in Mwanza steht für diese historische Verbindung und dient als strategische Ressource für die deutsch-tansanische Zusammenarbeit. Die Restaurierungsarbeiten unterstreichen sein Potenzial zur Förderung des gegenseitigen Verständnisses und der Inklusion. Als Ort für kulturelles Erbe, Bildung, Sprachunterricht und Archivforschung fördert das Haus die tansanisch-deutsche Verbindung und die gemeinsame Geschichte.
