Abstract This study presents a narrative exploration of the factors shaping customer satisfaction with Unified Payment Interface (UPI) digital payments in India. The rapid expansion of UPI, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, transformed payment behavior by enabling fast, secure, and convenient cashless transactions. The research examines how convenience, accessibility, transaction speed, perceived security, reliability, customer support, brand trust, and policy initiatives influence customer satisfaction and continued usage of UPI services. Drawing upon secondary data, participatory observations, and experiential reflections, the study highlights the role of trust as a central component in digital payment adoption. The findings reveal that ease of use, seamless interoperability, standardized interfaces, and reliable transaction processing significantly enhance user satisfaction. At the same time, concerns regarding privacy, cybersecurity, connectivity failures, and digital literacy continue to influence user perceptions. The study further emphasizes the importance of socioeconomic inclusivity, policy support, and technological infrastructure in strengthening India’s digital payment ecosystem. Overall, UPI has emerged not only as a payment mechanism but also as a transformative force in reshaping consumer behavior, promoting financial inclusion, and fostering trust in digital transactions across urban and rural India.
