The purpose of the present study is to investigate the profile of the secondary education school principal in Thessaly as well as the extent to which the interaction among the factors “gender”, “type of studies” and “previous administrative experience” differentiate the results. The study involved 240 randomly selected secondary education teachers from 48 urban, semi-urban and rural schools in Thessaly who voluntarily completed a questionnaire based on the Blake and Mouton administration grid. The results show that the secondary education school principal profile in the research area is close to that of the average type. According to Blake and Mouton"s administrative grid, this means that the principal is trying to balance between obligations and interest in all school stakeholders and educational issues. The research also reveals interesting results on the interaction between the factors “gender”, “type of studies” and “previous managerial experience”.
