This research aims to elaborate in depth the role and responsibilities of school principals as an effort to improve the quality of basic education at SD Negeri 2 Banyuning. The focus of this research lies on how school principals carry out their leadership functions in managerial and strategic contexts in the elementary school environment. This research is based on a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method, information is collected through an interview process with the principal. The data obtained shows that the principal not only plays the role of administrator, but also as a strategic leader who is responsible for designing, organizing, mobilizing, and supervising all school programs. The principal also plays a role in fostering teacher professionalism, managing budgets effectively, building a positive organizational culture, and establishing partnerships with the community. The main responsibility of the school principal is to ensure that the entire educational process runs effectively and efficiently and is oriented towards quality improvement.
