Association between serum pyridoxal 5'-phosphate and kidney stone risk: neutrophil count as a partial mediator
Key Points
To investigate the relationship between serum pyridoxal 5'-phosphate and kidney stone risk, considering inflammation's mediating effect.
Focused on participants with BMI between 25-29.9.
Excluded individuals with diabetes and hypertension.
Analyzed the correlation between serum PLP levels and kidney stone risk.
Higher serum PLP levels corresponded with reduced kidney stone risk.
Inflammation indicators, like neutrophil count, partially mediated this association.
Abstract
Among participants with a BMI of 25-29.9, without diabetes or hypertension, higher serum PLP levels were associated with a lower KS risk. Inflammation may affect the association between PLP and KS risk.
