This study aims at examining the productive efficiency of container terminals (CTs) affiliated to a single organization. In practice, this case is common in developing countries that all CTs are affiliated to a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE). In this paper, considering the management features of those CTs, a Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model is proposed to assess the productive efficiency of CTs. For validating the model, 17 CT operators owned by SNP corporation, the biggest SOE in Vietnam, were empirically investigated. The result might contribute an analytical reference for the practical applications of the DEA model in related port managements.
