Abstract

Objectives: In this study we aimed to describe the clinical features, treatment, and outcomes of patients with COVID-19 admitted to theintensive care unit.Patients and methods: In this retrospective, observational study, we enrolled 116 patients (69 males, 47 females; mean age: 66.9±13.6 years;range, 23 to 93 years) with COVID-19 confirmed by PCR tests who were admitted to Manavgat State Hospital. Demographic data, symptoms, laboratoryfindings, comorbidities, treatment, and outcomes were collected between August 1, 2020, and January 1, 2021. Data were compared between patientswho died and those who survived.Results: A total of 62 patients died, with a 53.4% mortality rate, while 54 recovered. The demographic analysis indicated that mortality forpatients in the older age group (i.e., ≥60 years) was higher than those in the younger age group (84%, 68.5%).
