Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly Comoros, is characterized by diverse cultural contexts that influence gender dynamics in psychology. An ethnographic study utilising semi-structured interviews with local psychologists to gather qualitative insights on gender roles, perceptions, and practices in psychological assessment and intervention. A notable finding was a prevalence rate of gender bias in clinical assessments (35%) among surveyed psychologists, highlighting the need for training interventions to address this issue. Action research underscores the importance of culturally sensitive training programmes for psychology professionals in Comoros to mitigate gender biases and promote equitable psychological services. Psychology education should incorporate cultural competency modules addressing gender dynamics. Psychologists should be encouraged to engage with local communities to enhance understanding and application of evidence-based practices.
