Recent years have witnessed an increasing awareness of skincare across diverse demographics, with a particular focus on the use of natural ingredients. This study investigates the extraction of aromatic distilled water via steam distillation and evaluates its applicability in cosmetic lotion formulations designed to accommodate general skin characteristics. Aromatic distilled water was extracted using a controlled steam distillation process and combined with glycerin at concentrations of 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10%. Skin hydration and sebum levels were quantified in six participants, measured before and after application using two types of skin checkers. The results demonstrated that formulations containing 5%–7.5% glycerin exhibited superior moisturizing effects and moderate sebum suppression compared to other concentrations. These findings substantiate the potential of aromatic distilled water-based cosmetic formulations with optimized glycerin levels for balanced skincare.
