With barely a few years to the deadline on the transition from analogue to digital transmission in the broadcast sector in Nigeria, it is instructive to investigate the nature and dimension which this challenge poses to operators of the electronic media in Nigeria. In spite of its technological advantage, there are those who still perceive the digital change-over as another evidence of the neo-colonial tendency of globalization and ICTs. Are such suspicions and insinuations professionally valid? What is the correlation between the perception and realities of the digitization switch in Nigeria, especially Ogun State?
