Project demonstrates enhanced communication and security in IoT using BLE 5.4, suggesting potential advancements in wireless systems.
Abstract The rapid growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) demands wireless communication technologies that are not only efficient but also secure and scalable. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 5.4 addresses these needs with advanced features like Periodic Advertising with Responses (PAwR) and Encrypted Advertising Data (EAD). This project focuses on the design and implementation of a Bluetooth transmitter using the BLE 5.4 protocol, aiming to enhance device communication in large-scale networks. We combined algorithmic simulations in MATLAB with RTL-based hardware coding to develop a modular, flexible system. Key features include AES-128 encryption for secure data transmission, dynamic multi-channel hopping to minimize interference, and optimized advertising intervals for better device synchronization. PAwR enables seamless two-way communication between multiple devices, while EAD ensures robust data security even in real-time applications. Through extensive simulations, the system demonstrated high data integrity, low latency, and strong performance in noisy environments. This project not only meets the stringent demands of modern IoT applications like smart homes, healthcare monitoring, and industrial automation but also sets the stage for future advancements in BLE technology. By leveraging BLE 5.4’s capabilities, we aim to contribute to the development of secure, efficient, and scalable wireless communication systems.
