Genome assembly reveals 18,667 protein-coding genes in Pediacus dermestoides, indicating its complex genome structure.
<ns3:p>We present a genome assembly from a male specimen of <ns3:italic>Pediacus dermestoides</ns3:italic> (flat bark beetle; Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Cucujidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 235.02 megabases. Most of the assembly (94.66%) is scaffolded into 10 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X and Y sex chromosomes. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.46 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 18,667 protein-coding genes.</ns3:p>
