Genome assembly reveals 34,437 protein-coding genes in Porites lutea, indicating diverse microbial metagenome interactions.
<ns7:p>We present a genome assembly from a specimen of <ns7:italic>Porites lutea</ns7:italic> (Mound Coral; Cnidaria; Anthozoa; Scleractinia; Poritidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 541.64 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.5%) is scaffolded into 14 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 18.64 kilobases in length. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 34,437 protein-coding genes. Two bacterial bins were also derived from the metagenome of <ns7:italic>P. lutea</ns7:italic>.</ns7:p>
