Systematic review highlights the effects of sleep disorders on mental health, indicating the need for effective diagnosis and treatment.
Sleep is an essential physiological mechanism that is fundamental to the maintenance of health and well-being. Its significance encompasses various physiological and psychological processes, like cognition, regulation of mood, immune system operation, and metabolic equilibrium. Sufficient sleep in both duration and quality is imperative for optimal bodily operations and sustained well-being. The main aim was to study the four different type of sleep orders in detail. The current systematic review was performed using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses. Google scholar was used as a database for the review. Of the research articles we found 11 articles based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. As a result, this paper discusses about Sleep Disorders which include sleep apnea (Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and Central Sleep Apnea), Insomnia (Chronic, Acute, Transient), Narcolepsy and Restless Leg Syndrome. It also speaks about pathophysiology which in simply means the physiologically disturbed processes linked to illness or injury. Along with Epidemiology, this addresses health-related issues such as disease incidence, distribution, and potential control. Diagnosis and Treatment of sleep disorders are also covered.
