Genome assembly reveals 177 megabases and four chromosomal pseudomolecules in Anopheles aquasalis, indicating significant genetic insights.
<ns7:p>We present a genome assembly from an individual female <ns7:italic>Anopheles (Nyssorhynchus) aquasalis</ns7:italic> (a malaria mosquito; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Culicidae), from a wild population in French Guiana. The genome sequence is 177 megabases in span. The majority of the assembly is scaffolded into four chromosomal pseudomolecules with the X sex chromosome assembled into two arms, XR and XL. The complete mitochondrial genome was also assembled and is 15.4 kilobases in length.</ns7:p>
