Technical note enhances accuracy of digitally fabricated occlusal splints by refining bite registration techniques, highlighting therapeutic use in dental practices.
Oral occlusal splints play a crucial role in both general dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery, serving both therapeutic and diagnostic purposes. However, their fabrication remains a technically complex process, with traditional methods often yielding inconsistent results. Advancements in digital technology have significantly reduced human error, yet they introduce new technical and training challenges. The primary objective of digital fabrication is to enhance the precision and predictability of splint production. This technical note aims to minimize digital discrepancies by proposing modifications to the conventional digital bite registration method, thereby improving the accuracy and reliability of digitally fabricated occlusal splints.
