Development of a monitoring system improves vehicle safety and reduces maintenance costs in public utility vehicles, highlighting the importance of real-time data in operations.
This study presents the design, development, and evaluation of a real time-drum brake lining wear monitoring system for public utility vehicles (PUVs), specifically public utility jeepneys. This study tackles the limitations of traditional drum brake monitoring which is by visual inspection by integrating monitoring system to provide exact, real time feedback on the brake wear. This system purpose is to enhance vehicle safety, reduce maintenance costs, and improve operational efficiency through predictive maintenance.
