Quantitative analysis reveals a strong link between financial transparency and trust levels in NGOs, suggesting improved governance may enhance donor contributions.
This study investigated how financial transparency impacts the trust levels of philanthropists toward NGOs Working in Punjab, Pakistan. NGOs heavily depend on donor contributions; however, concerns regarding financial mismanagement, limited disclosure, and a weak accountability system have raised skepticism among donors. Using a quantitative approach with data collected from 100 philanthropists through structured questionnaires, the study reveals that donors place crucial importance on transparent fund utilization, independent audits, and accessible financial reporting. The findings demonstrate a strong positive relationship between financial transparency and donor trust levels, suggesting that greater openness in financial matters can enhance philanthropists’ trust and encourage continued philanthropic support. This research highlights the importance of improving governance and transparency practices to ensure the sustainability and credibility of NGOs in the region.
