Discussion

Experimental analysis reveals essential oils significantly reduce fruit fly attacks on chili plants, suggesting eco-friendly pest control methods.

All essential oils tested significantly suppressed bactrocera spp. attacks on chili plants, enhancing crop protection.
The lowest fruit fly attacks occurred with clove leaf oil at 59.17%, while the control group faced 93.84% infestations.
This randomized block design experiment evaluated five essential oil treatments alongside a synthetic insecticide on chili plants.
Natural enemy populations like ladybugs and praying mantises were not significantly affected by essential oil applications.

Purnawan et al. (2025) studied this question.
