This paper demonstrates how enhanced lean six sigma frameworks improve quality and operational efficiency in electrical equipment manufacturing.
Lean Six Sigma (LSS) has become an essential methodology for improving quality, reducing waste, and increasing operational efficiency across various manufacturing sectors. In electrical equipment manufacturing, which involves complex assemblies, precision engineering, and strict regulatory standards, the optimization of LSS methodologies is both critical and challenging. This paper explores the implementation of an enhanced LSS framework tailored to the unique requirements of electrical manufacturing processes. Using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) approach, along with digital lean tools such as IoT-based monitoring, ERP integration, and automated quality checks, this study identifies key inefficiencies and proposes targeted solutions. Case studies from PCB assembly, panel wiring, and transformer coil production demonstrate measurable improvements in cycle time, first-pass yield, defect rates, and scrap reduction. The research confirms that a customized, digitally supported LSS system significantly enhances process reliability, quality performance, and customer satisfaction ultimately leading to sustainable competitive advantage in electrical equipment manufacturing environments.
