Experimental analysis indicates that optical coherence tomography effectively detects microbubble defects in bonding components, suggesting industrial measurement applications.
This paper proposes a method using Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography (SD-OCT) In order to detect bubble defects in the bonding components,. This method leverages the principles of low-coherence interference and is characterized by its non-invasive, non-contact, and damage-free attributes. A SD-OCT system with a central wavelength of 840 nm was established to detect bubble defects at the bonding interface of a depolarizer. Three-dimensional images of the detected bubble defects were obtained, and algorithms such as Sobel and Maximum inter-class variance method (Otsu) were employed to extract features including contour dimensions from the identified bubbles. Experimental results demonstrate that this method effectively detects bubble defects at bonding interfaces, indicating promising prospects for industrial measurement applications.
