Case report documents deep vein thrombosis in a young athlete, highlighting early diagnosis in Paget Schroetter syndrome.
Paget Schroetter syndrome (PSS) is a rare case of upper limb deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a form of venous thoracic outlet syndrome involving thrombosis of the axillary-subclavian vein occurring in young, healthy individuals.2 The thrombotic event is usually precipitated by strenuous exercise or overuse of the arm. In this study, we present a case of PSS in a 22-year-old weight trainer with characteristic MRA findings, to increase its awareness, as early diagnosis and treatment can limit disability and morbidity.
