Simulation of inductor current stress reduction by up to 22% in DAB converters using EPS modulation, indicating effective optimization strategies.
The DAB converter has been widely employed in the industrial sector due to its characteristic of a wide range of input voltages. Nevertheless, the realization of ZVS and the optimization of inductor current under a broad input voltage range still require further investigations. The IPSO is utilized to conduct research on the magnitude of inductor current stress of the DAB under EPS modulation. The inner phase-shift-ratio D 1 within the primary bridge and the phase-shift-ratio D 0 between the two bridges as control variables, through adaptive weight adjustment and the design of multi-objective penalty functions. A DAB simulation model is established via MATLAB. The results of the simulation indicate that the current sharing error is decreased by 3% to 22% compared to that before optimization, while ensuring a constant total output power and fulfilling the realization conditions of ZVS on the primary side. This indicates that this control strategy can effectively optimize the inductor current stress in DAB.
