In vitro experiments reveal that a magnetically driven helical microrobot achieves complete thrombus removal in under 8 minutes, suggesting advancements in intravascular therapy.
To enhance the imaging visibility and motion efficiency of vascular interventional micro-nano robots, this study designed a magnetically driven helical microrobot (MDHM) based on modular design optimization for intravascular interventional thrombectomy. The proposed MDHM achieves excellent X-ray imaging visibility compared to the magnetically controlled helical microrobot doped with NdFeB particles. The closed-loop control system, integrated with a high-speed CMOS camera, enables precise and efficient thrombus removal. In vitro experiments demonstrated the effectiveness of MDHM, achieving complete thrombus clearance in 7′46″. This work provides an innovative, high-precision, and minimally invasive solution for intravascular interventional therapy.
