Research shows social biases shape women's roles through culture and media, highlighting the need for reforms.
In contemporary society, although gender equality has become a universally pursued goal, the shaping of women’s roles by social biases remains an urgent issue to be addressed. This paper explores the shaping and influence of social biases on women’s roles, with a focus on analyzing the roles of culture, education, and media in this process. The research shows that traditional cultural concepts, gender differences in the education system, and the media’s stereotypical portrayal of women together constitute social biases towards women’s roles. These biases not only limit women’s personal development but also have a profound impact on society as a whole. Through literature analysis and case studies, this paper reveals the mechanisms of social biases in shaping women’s roles and proposes strategies to promote gender equality through educational reforms, strengthening media responsibilities, and updating cultural concepts. The research results emphasize the importance of eliminating social biases and achieving gender equality, providing a theoretical basis for relevant policy - making and practice.
