Novel method produces low-cost training phantoms for ultrasonography, suggesting enhanced practice opportunities.
Ultrasound guidance has become the standard procedure for the placement of central vascular access, replacing the anatomical landmark technique. Practicing with puncture simulators prior to performing the procedure on patients is highly recommended. This article presents a novel method for creating training phantoms using reusable, economical, and easily accessible materials. The resulting model is low‐cost, long‐lasting, recyclable, and reusable, thereby providing all students with equal opportunities to practice before performing procedures on patients.
