Computational study reveals 26.52% efficiency in Cs2CuSbCl6 solar cells, suggesting potential for lead-free photovoltaics.
Perovskite solar cells are a rapidly emerging material for efficient photovoltaics. In this study, SCAPS-1D was used to simulate a novel lead-free double perovskite material, Cs2CuSbCl6. Simulations revealed a peak efficiency of 26.52% (Voc = 1.54 V, Jsc = 18.43 mA/cm², FF = 93.14%) using the ITO/Nb2O5/Cs2CuSbCl6/CuSCN architecture. Additionally, it is found that the optimal thickness for the Cs2CuSbCl6 absorber is 700 nm with an ideal temperature at 230 K. These results showcase the promising capability of lead-free double perovskites for efficient photovoltaics.
