Randomized trial showed significant motor function improvement in acute ischemic stroke patients using Anika gloves, suggesting effective rehabilitation.
The aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the Anika rehabilitation complex in patients with impaired motor functions of the right hand in the acute period of ischemic stroke in the LVSA basin. Materials and methods. 40 patients with mild hemiparesis in the acute period of ischemic stroke in the basin of the left internal carotid artery were examined on the basis of the Ivanovo Regional Clinical Hospital. Depending on the training performed with the Anika rehabilitation complex, the patients were randomly divided into two groups (1 and 2, 20 people in each group), comparable in severity of motor disorders. The patients of the experimental group took a course of 15 classes. The control group received a standard rehabilitation scheme. Results. Patients who worked with the glove showed statistically significant improvement in most subtests (ball/cylindrical/pinch grip). The ARAT hand function assessment test, according to the Medical Research Committee scale. According to the amplitude indicators (minimum/maximum angles of movement, compression/decompression deficit), which were recorded by the Anika software and hardware complex, there was a tendency to increase in all groups. Conclusion. In patients with mild impairment (strength, amplitude, motor) functions of the right hand in the acute period of ischemic stroke in the basin of the left ICA, when using the Anika rehabilitation complex (gloves), there was a significant increase in the strength of the muscles of the distal upper limb, and an improvement in the dynamics of motor activity when performing manual skills compared with the comparison group.
