Analysis shows AI improves academic performance in hybrid education, indicating challenges in digital access and ethics.
This study analyzes the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on personalized learning within hybrid higher education environments in Ecuador. Through a quantitative methodology using validated instruments applied to students and faculty members, trends, benefits, risks, and challenges in the implementation of AI-based technologies were identified. The use of tools such as content recommendation systems, intelligent tutors, and adaptive platforms has significantly improved academic performance and student motivation. However, gaps in digital access, faculty training, and ethical use of data were also found. The results suggest that responsible AI implementation can positively transform hybrid education when accompanied by inclusive policies, teacher training, and ethical regulation.
