Composite sensors detect nitrogen dioxide effectively at room temperature, suggesting optimal performance of TiO2 and rGO materials.
In this paper, TiO 2 /rGO composites were obtained by combining titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ), and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) through a simple one-step hydrothermal method and used for the detection of nitrogen dioxide (NO 2 ). The morphology of the composites was characterised using SEM and other characterisation methods. The TiO 2 /rGO sensor with the optimal material ratio showed a response of 163%, response time and recovery time of 30 s and 300 s, respectively, and good repeatability and specificity of the sensor in the test of 50 ppm NO 2 concentration at room temperature. The excellent sensing performance exhibited by the TiO 2 /rGO sensor is dependent on the synergistic effect between TiO 2 and rGO.
