The article explores qualification requirements for employees, indicating their importance in enhancing professionalism and skills.
In the article, the author considers the issue of qualification requirements for employees, because even today it requires further scientific research. Despite the fact that the competitiveness of an employee in the labor market depends on many factors and factors, the key one is still the employee’s qualification. Taking into account the views of scientists whose research subjects were the issues raised in this study, as well as national legislation in the area under consideration, it is concluded that the qualification of an employee is the degree of his readiness to perform work in a specified specialty or position, which is outlined by rank, class or other certification categories. The main components of qualification include: knowledge, skills, work experience, general education, special training. As for the qualification requirements for employees, despite their consolidation in regulatory legal acts, where they are contained either in the definition of the concept of a particular employee, or in direct provisions of the law on the requirements for a person who can hold a specific position, the emphasis is on the lack of a legislative definition of the concept of «qualification requirements for employees». Although the issue of its definition as a category of labor law is important in both theoretical and applied aspects. Therefore, the author proposes to consider the qualification requirements for employees as a labor law category as requirements defined by regulatory documents for the level of education, qualifications, experience and other professional skills necessary for hiring a person for work and successfully performing their duties as an employee in a specific position. In other words, these are established rules that determine the necessary knowledge, skills, experience and other characteristics required to perform a specific labor function. They are an important part of personnel policy and help ensure a high level of qualification and professionalism of employees. The purpose of qualification requirements is, firstly, to ensure that employees have the necessary qualifications and experience to perform the work; secondly, to promote an objective and fair process of personnel selection; thirdly, to maintain the quality of work and professionalism.
