Analysis highlights the gap between regulatory requirements and employer needs in the archival industry.
The article examines the professional qualification requirements for employees of the archival industry. A comparative analysis of professional and qualification requirements in regulatory documents (handbook of qualification characteristics of employees' professions, classifier of professions) and requirements of modern employers to employees of the archival industry in the labor market is carried out. Failure to understand the risks associated with improperly maintaining archival records and ignoring their importance can lead to serious consequences, such as the loss of important legal and financial documents, disclosure of trade secrets or critical information, which may result in fines for violating the law on record retention. It is noted that the labor market is focused on multifunctional workers. If an archivist does not have additional competencies (IT archiving, document management, legal aspect of document management, etc.), his or her chances of finding a job are significantly reduced.
