Simulation analysis reveals technological innovation significantly enhances resource utilization and energy efficiency in manufacturing, suggesting pathways for sustainability.
Abstract With the global manufacturing industry facing increasingly severe environmental and resource challenges, technological innovation has become an important driving force for its sustainable development. This paper constructs a multi-level factor demand and governance model for the sustainable development of the manufacturing industry, and adopts system dynamics methods to analyze the optimization effect of technological innovation and its impact on the sustainable development of the manufacturing industry through the aspects of resource utilization efficiency, energy consumption and production cost. The results show that the sustainable development of the manufacturing industry involves various factors. These include production supply factors, market consumption demand factors, infrastructure input factors, energy consumption and so on. The synergy among these various factors is crucial for sustainable development of the manufacturing industry. Secondly, social technological innovation, which involves strengthening the formulation and implementation of science and technology policies, not only plays a positive role in promoting and facilitating the sustainable development of the manufacturing industry but also can foster natural technological innovation. Thirdly, Thirdly, if the number of environmental policies introduced is increased or decreased singly, it does not have a significant impact on the sustainable development of the manufacturing industry. Fourthly, thinking technology innovation, which involves reducing thinking inertia can positively impact the sustainable development of the manufacturing industry.
