A BSTRACT Introduction: In today’s era, lifestyle and dietary changes increasing the risk of skin diseases and lifestyle disorder or metabolic syndrome such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, obesity, and risk of cardiac disease. Stroke prevalence of these diseases has reached alarming proportion in the past few decades. In skin diseases, one of which is, ekakushtha (psoriasis). Ekakushtha is a type of kshudrakushtha , that impact one’s mental state, social life and develop an inferiority mentality. Contemporary science explained various types of clinical examination of disease and diseased person. Ayurveda science has also disseminated different types of pariksha to assess the human nature to its core. Prakriti , is one the type of dashavidha pariksha to assess the physical and mental nature of an individual. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out after the approval of the Institutional Ethics Committee. A written consent form was obtained from the participants. One hundred psoriasis participants were included in this study. Results: Among 100 psoriasis participants, majority 46% had prakriti Pittaja - Vataja , followed by Pittaja Kaphaja 23% and Vataja Kaphaja was the third most frequent prakriti 12%. Other prakritis were Vataja -5%, Pittaja- 4%, Kaphaja -4%, and Tridosaja -6%. Conclusions: After the critical study of the concept of prakriti and ekakushtha through various texts, their testing by different methods and their discussion and interpretation by logic and reasoning, it is concluded that there is a certain impact of prakriti in the prevalence of ekakushtha .
