Numerical simulations reveal cooling tower dynamics in water droplets, suggesting enhancements in efficiency.
The three-dimensional numerical simulation models of a hybrid mechanical draft wet cooling tower (MDWCT), the MDWCT equipped with a water collection device (WCD) and a plume abatement module (PAM), are established in this paper to comprehensively analyse aerodynamic and hydrodynamic characteristics of water droplets in the rain zone under various operational conditions. This research has the potential to enhance and improve the precise characteristics of water-side properties significantly, addresses a gap in the precise description of water-side characteristics in this field, thereby facilitating the theoretical development of cooling tower technology.
