This analysis demonstrates improved stability of a boost converter system in power electronics, highlighting the role of current control methods and impedance management.
This paper presents a way to control a homemade electronic load for a power electronic laboratory. It is used as a tool in the laboratory and presented as a problem to master's degree students. The concept of a conventional boost converter with conventional current control will first be introduced. Then, reducing the input current ripple of the electronic load is highlighted as a mandatory target. After putting two stages of the LC lowpass filter as a front-end section of the circuit to be tested, stability may occur depending on the load power taken. Thanks to the Lyapunov stability theorem, a mathematical demonstration is introduced to handle such a problem and ensure the entire system's stability. Simulation results are given as evidence of the proposed method.
